Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: 23 April 2026
These Terms govern your use of .Portal, the platform for ordering custom-printed beverage cans. Please read them before placing an order. If you have questions, email hello@dotcan.com.
1. Who we are
.Portal is a platform operated by DOTCAN OÜ (registry code 17268416, VAT EE102969612), Tähe 131C, 51008 Tartu, Estonia (“dotCan”, “we”, “us”). .Portal powers multiple storefronts, which may be operated under different brand names by dotCan or by partner resellers.
Regardless of which storefront you use to place your order:
- The legal seller of the cans is Cannery OÜ (“Cannery”), the Estonian producer that fulfils your order.
- Your purchase contract is with Cannery.
- Your account and use of the platform is governed by these Terms, between you and dotCan.
- Invoices are issued by Cannery.
- Payment is made to Cannery.
2. Accounts
To place an order, you need to create an account with a valid email address. You must be at least 18 years old.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@dotcan.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
3. Ordering and payment
3.1. How ordering works
You design your cans using the .Portal editor, review the preview, and place an order. An order is binding once you complete payment.
3.2. Payment
Payments are processed by Montonio and go directly to Cannery's bank account. We accept Estonian bank-link payments (Swedbank, SEB, LHV, Luminor, Coop Pank) and card payments supported by Montonio.
3.3. Pricing and VAT
All prices shown on .Portal are in euros (EUR) and include 24% Estonian VAT. Shipping costs are shown separately before checkout.
3.4. Order confirmation
After successful payment, you'll receive an order confirmation email. Production begins once payment is confirmed and your design has passed our review (see section 4).
4. Custom designs
4.1. Your design, your responsibility
You keep ownership of the artwork you upload. By uploading a design, you grant dotCan and Cannery a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to reproduce your design for the sole purpose of fulfilling your order.
You warrant that:
- You own or have the right to use the design you upload.
- Your design does not infringe any third party's copyright, trademark, or other rights.
- Your design is not illegal, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or otherwise offensive.
4.2. Our right to refuse
We reserve the right to reject any design that we believe violates these Terms or applicable law. If your design is rejected before production starts, you'll receive a full refund.
4.3. Colour accuracy, print tolerances, and variation
Your design is printed onto a polypropylene (PP) label that is applied to the can. Printing uses pigment inkjet technology, which cannot perfectly reproduce every colour shown on a screen (which uses RGB). Minor variations in colour, alignment, registration, and finish are inherent to the production process and are not considered defects. This includes small differences between individual labels in the same batch, and small differences between your on-screen preview and the final printed result. We do our best to match your design as closely as possible, but exact reproduction cannot be guaranteed.
5. Production and delivery
5.1. Delivery area
We currently ship to Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Finland.
5.2. Delivery timeframe
Typical delivery is 7–14 business days from order confirmation. This includes production and shipping. Delays caused by carriers, customs, or force majeure events are outside our control.
5.3. Carriers
Orders are shipped via carriers including Omniva and other partners selected by Cannery. Tracking information is sent by email when your order ships.
5.4. Risk of loss
Risk of loss passes to you when the carrier delivers the order to the address or parcel machine you specified.
5.5. Quantity tolerance
Due to the nature of industrial printing and filling, the delivered quantity may vary by up to ±5% from the quantity ordered. This is standard practice in the beverage production industry. You will be billed for the actual quantity delivered, not the quantity ordered. If the delivered quantity is more than 5% below your order, contact us and we'll reprint the shortfall or refund the difference.
6. No right of withdrawal for custom products
Under § 53(4)(3) of the Estonian Law of Obligations Act and Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised. Because your cans are printed with your custom design, you cannot cancel or return an order once production has started.
You can cancel an order free of charge before production starts by emailing hello@dotcan.com. Once production has started, orders cannot be cancelled.
7. Defective or damaged goods
If your order arrives defective, damaged, or materially different from your approved design, contact us within 14 days of delivery at hello@dotcan.com with:
- Your order number
- A description of the issue
- Photos showing the defect or damage
We'll review the claim and, if accepted, arrange a reprint or a refund at our discretion. You have the statutory 2-year warranty for non-conforming goods under Estonian consumer law.
8. Your responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Upload designs that infringe third-party rights or break the law
- Use the platform for fraudulent purposes or chargeback abuse
- Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or interfere with .Portal
- Create multiple accounts to evade suspension or limits
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, including submitting illegal designs, committing payment fraud, or abusing the platform. Where possible we'll notify you first, but serious breaches may result in immediate suspension.
You can close your account at any time by emailing hello@dotcan.com.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, dotCan's and Cannery's total liability to you for any claim arising from your order or your use of .Portal is limited to the amount you paid for the order in question.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by negligence
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
- Any liability that cannot legally be excluded under Estonian consumer law
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email and by updating the “Last updated” date at the top. The version in force at the time of your order applies to that order.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Estonian law. Any disputes that cannot be resolved amicably will be handled by the Tartu County Court (Tartu Maakohus) as the court of first instance.
If you are a consumer residing in the EU and we cannot resolve your complaint directly, you can contact the European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net) in your country for free cross-border dispute assistance: eccnet.eu. Estonian consumers can also contact the Consumer Disputes Committee (Tarbijavaidluste komisjon) via the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority: ttjaveebivorm.ee.
